A JOURNEY FOR 9/11:
Winuk Communications managed all national public relations for this two-year campaign which raised $3 million for the medical treatment and monitoring of thousands of rescue and recovery workers of Ground Zero now ailing as a result of their service. The campaign featured a 3,003-mile cross-country walk by retired NY Giants legend and Super Bowl champion George Martin, who founded Journey. The agency, which received three national public relations awards for its work on Journey, secured more than 750 interviews for Mr. Martin, directed government relations for the campaign, staged numerous press and other events throughout the nation (including what was likely the first press conference ever on the George Washington Bridge), crafted speeches and collateral materials and more. PFIZER, INC.: Planned and managed all public relations for eight-city "Step Into Heart Health Tour," featuring a museum-quality, interactive traveling educational exhibit about the human heart. Arranged all interviews for Pfizer spokespeople, crafted messages and all press materials, researched FDA requirements, provided on site support in each market, and managed all publicity for tour.
YOUNG AUDIENCES NEW YORK (YANY): Coordinated national and local media relations for this leading provider of supplemental arts programming for 180 New York City public schools and more than 235,000 students throughout the city’s five boroughs. Managed PR for YANY’s 2009 fundraising gala in NYC, including message development, crafting press materials and securing numerous interview opportunities for the executive director of YANY and gala honoree and Emmy-Award winning actress Julianna Margulies. CLEAR CHANNEL ENTERTAINMENT (formerly SFX): Managed national and trade publicity, executive speech writing, Web site promotion, media training, crisis and strategic counsel for the world's leading live entertainment company. Provided crisis communications and marketing counsel to the company’s SFX Saratoga Concerts, Inc., as well as general PR support to SFX Corporate (sponsorship deals, varied publicity needs, etc.). UNMET NEEDS: National public relations campaign for this multi-million dollar non-profit initiative of the Vermont-American brand of the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation to raise funds for and provide services to the families of U.S. military personnel based overseas.
